Every engine displacement in the KTM line has received attention from the R &D team at KTM Austria leading to numerous technical improvements that ensures optimum power and increased overall performance. Starting with he two-time motocross world-championship winning 125 engine, (which also serves as the platform for the 200 EXC/MXC engine) the KTM engineers have managed to squeeze out better throttle response and more overall power throughout he range.
For the 2002 model year, KTM motors were optimized in various details and upgraded by adding modifications derived from KTM s factory racing efforts.
