Love the ride......
I live in Southern Vermont and commute to New Hampshire. 70 miles round trip, 50 minutes and 35 miles one way. I can only commute when the temperature is above freezing, so I ride between mid to late April until the beginning to middle of November. 37 degrees at 55 mph gets really cold. But filling up makes it all worth it. Especially the look on everyones face when you start bitching about paying $8.34 for a fill-up. Priceless! ;)
I ride to: Know what you mean! I topped off the tank at $10.25 the other day compared to $115 for my truck that is a deal!
Why I ride:
Clear my head, make any trip exciting, avoid heavy traffic, have time alone, save lots of money on gas, keep lots of depreciating miles off my truck, hone my driving skills, explore new routes and places, make new friends, to enjoy a feeling like flying while still on the ground, impress the chicks (LOL, I wish). Amaze the little tikes on their bikes and trikes.
Ride on!
I live in Orlando also & I agree. Best part is the news reported traffic across the country is down 2% cause of fuel prices, may not be much but for many reasons 2% is better than none.

I work an early shift (5:30am to 3:00pm) and riding to work at such an early hour is great. Very little traffic and cool temps. (I live in Orlando, Fl) Only issue is the afternoon when those famous Florida pop-up thunderstorms happen. Just need some rain gear.
