Commuting Experience

My worst commuting experience is when a man almost slept into my lap. At first, he is lying on the bag on his lap then suddenly he is slowly slipping to the bag towards my direction. That's embarassing.

rideing season in upstate new york

finally able to ride my bike to work in upstate new york on friday it felt great to shake off the pms( parked motorcycle syndrome ) for another season

Need motivation

I used to ride to work almost everyday when I had a 50 mile round trip commute. Now I have changed my work location to only 5 miles round trip. I have lost my motivation for taking the bike as my commute is literally 3 minutes. Especially on cold days that may require electrics.

Help - I haven't ridden in 4 weeks.

210 Freeway

At times its easy and fast, I commute from Monrovia, CA to Universal City, CA. Easy ride, the freeway merges all the way through with a diamond lane.

210 = 134 = 101 = Diamond Lane = 80 MPH :-)

Take it everyday with my 03' Honda Shadow Classic 750cc. I do my best to stay with the rest of them but its small for now, cold in the morning but warm in the evening, nice simple ride to and from work. OH and YES the road is paved with hardly any bumps or cracks

"use your signal lights, you @#$%!"

I was on my way home, enjoying a quiet ride home. I'm on a 4 lane highway and it was around lunch time so it had minimal traffic. I'm on the outer most lane and was following a car in front with about a 2 second interval. Were approaching an overpass so it split the road, 2 lanes going up the overpass and the other 2 lanes would go staight ahead. At the foot of the overpass on the right was a corner going into a village. And this car, suddenly made a right without signalling. Crack, boom!

Miami Airport (OT)

I know.. I know...I should post this in another board..But I just simply want to thanks the Miami International Airport for providing not only indoor parking for motorcycles but is FREE and located right across the street on a lower level.
It will be nice if someone from some motorcycle organization send them a letter or something and show our appreciation, perhaps other airports will follow.

Now I need to flight from La Guardia in NY but the parking here will cost as much as of a car ($ 30 a day) witch I think is not fair since they can fit up to 5 bikes on each car space..

Plattsburgh New York to Miami Florida

Shortly after a the end of an exercise on the Air Force Base, I put in for some leave and decided I was going to make my trip home on my motorcycle. It was a Yamaha 650 Maxum and I loved that ride. The overall duration of the trip was 30 hours as I didn't do any site seeing along the way; but here's a tip for you two wheel travelers; If you are passing through maryland in the mists of the night, you might consider pulling over and spending the night in a local motel. I didn't and I regretted it as I had to pull over on the side of the road until the fog lifted. Yes the fog.

Well worth the ride home...

Another trip home from work on my Fatboy... I started my trek home from work. Met with a partner (Ray), I occasional run into on my trip home. We were traveling down the street when a New Toyota Solora passes us in the rt lane and proceeds to change lanes into ours without signaling. The woman driving, I dont think gave it a 2nd thought. We then changed lanes to the rt lane to get away from the woman, when she comes upon slower traffic and again changes lanes into ours without signaling. This happens about 2-3 more times.

Crazy CHP!!!

It's been my experience that bikers tend to enjoy riding together while commuting. It's a bit of an unspoken thing. As a BMW rider, I've also noticed Beemer riders have quite an affinity for other Beemers on the road. This can oftentimes make for fantastic and fun commuting.

Not as bad as it could have been, still...

So there I am in a pouring rain on my fabboo new V-star (purple honey!) stopped at a major intersection at the bottom of a steep hill waiting on the light when I notice the woman in a panel van in the right lane a car or two ahead of me sticks her head out the window and looks me dead in the face. I figure she's another one of those "Is that a chick on that bike?!" gawkers and I simply smile and wave back.
